Early Reviewer Results (Geekbench 6)
The projections above were published before launch. The Mac Studio with M5 Ultra went on sale on September 22, 2026, and the first reviewer numbers are in. We have not tested one ourselves yet.
- Geekbench 6: Tom’s Guide measured 4,318 single-core and 37,777 multi-core on an M5 Ultra with 256GB of unified memory. That is well above our 33,000 multi-core projection and slightly above our 4,260 single-core projection.
- Geekbench 7: Engadget recorded 52,185 multi-core on a 36-core, 256GB configuration, against 39,145 for the M3 Ultra. Geekbench 7 uses a different scale, so this cannot be compared with Geekbench 6 scores.
- Specs: Apple lists the M5 Ultra with up to a 36-core CPU, an 80-core GPU, 512GB of unified memory (the 512GB option arrives in late October) and 1.2TB/s of memory bandwidth, more CPU and GPU cores than our pre-launch projection.
One published result is not a consensus, so this machine stays marked as an estimate on our charts until more results come in or we test our own. We are staying on Geekbench 6 for now so new Macs stay comparable with the rest of our database. Here is why, and when we plan to move to Geekbench 7.
