Apple’s September iPhone + More Event Coming Soon

With Apple’s highly anticipated September event just around the corner, the rumor mill is buzzing with exciting new product releases. The star of the show is expected to be the new iPhone 17 lineup, which is rumored to include four models: the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and a new, ultra-thin “iPhone 17 Air” that is expected to replace the “Plus” model. The event, with the tagline “Awe Dropping,” is scheduled for September 9th, and tech enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the official unveiling of these new devices.

This year’s iPhone upgrades are expected to be significant across the board. The standard iPhone 17 models are rumored to be getting a Pro-level feature with the inclusion of a 120Hz ProMotion display for the first time, offering smoother scrolling and more responsive gaming. Both the standard and Pro models are also expected to feature a much-improved 24MP front-facing camera for higher-quality selfies and video calls. For the iPhone 17 Pro models, the camera system is rumored to get a major overhaul, with a new 48MP telephoto lens and an upgraded ultra-wide camera. The Pro model is also expected to start with 256GB of storage, doubling the base storage of its predecessor.

On the Mac front, there are intriguing rumors of Apple expanding its lineup with a new, more affordable MacBook, possibly priced under $800. This rumored device is expected to be powered by an A-series chip, similar to those found in iPhones and iPads, which would allow for significant cost savings while still offering strong performance for everyday tasks. Additionally, for the higher-end Mac Pro, MacBook Pro, and Mac Studio lines, updates are anticipated to include the next generation of Apple Silicon, likely featuring the M5 architecture. These M5 chips are expected to bring further advancements in processing power, graphics performance, and energy efficiency, solidifying Apple’s lead in custom silicon for professional workstations and laptops.

Despite the numerous upgrades, it is rumored that Apple will keep the pricing for the new iPhone 17 lineup relatively stable, with only the iPhone 17 Pro expected to see a slight price increase due to the bump in base storage. This strategy could help Apple maintain strong demand in a competitive smartphone market. As for the more distant future, rumors of a foldable iPhone continue to circulate, with a possible release in 2026. For now, all eyes are on the September 9th event to see which of these rumors become reality.
